Topwater Frog Introduction
Almost every angler knows how to fish topwater frogs because it's one of the first things you learn. Frogs are the most exciting bass lure because they promote big surface strikes, and you can watch your bait the whole time. We discuss the best hollow body topwater frog of the year.
The most important criteria for a frog is that it has a weedless design. You'll want to be casting this thing up into the thickest vegetation you can find. Now, when it comes to plastic and rubber frogs, there are many options on the market.

Topwater Frog Details
This bait is made of super-soft material and has a hollow body design. This allows the bait to be collapsable and perfectly weedless.
The hooks hug tight against the body of the frog when you're casting it, but when a bass strikes it, the frog squeezes, and the hooks become exposed. All you have to do is set the hook, and the fish is yours!
You get all the benefits of a weedless bait without losing any of the realism in the presentation.
Where to Fish The Booyah Pad Crasher
You can literally cast this bait anywhere. It pulls effortlessly across Lily Pads and Weed Mats and won't snag on anything until a fish bites!
It's been known to catch monster Largemouth Bass and other species that include Northern Pike, Musky, and Stripers. The collapsable body provides a super high strike-to-hookup ratio!
Topwater Frog Lure Action
The action on the Booyah Pad Crasher is superb. The cupped mouth in front of the bait means this will double as a popper or a chugger if you fish in deeper waters.
The disturbance created gets the attention of even the largest bass. When the bass are struggling to commit to other topwaters, this lure will get the job done.
Retrieve Style For Bass Fishing
It works well with a "fast-reeling" or "quick-retrieve" style and also has a walking action so you can use the "walk-the-dog" retrieve.
It's also a gem for "annoying" the bass in the spring when they're guarding their beds in the tall grass. The weight on this lure also makes it effective in thick slop and windy fishing conditions.
Our Recommended Modification
This bait is almost entirely perfect in our eyes, but there's one thing you can do to make it catch even more fish.
We feel that the skirts on the end are just a tad too long, which sometimes means you'll get "short-strikes" from the rear. This is when fish will swing at it, but come up short and don't bite the hooks.
To solve this simple problem, try cutting down the skirts by about 0.5 inches to 1 inch. For us, this fixed any short-strike problem we had, and it's a perfect sized profile for the bass we commonly target.
